No more digital art for a while ;_;

Well it turns out that I'll be without my tablet temporarily... It stopped functioning a couple of months ago and not even a new set of batteries would restore it. So whenever I'm not too tight on money I'll look for a replacement online, and they usually run around $25 on Amazon.com. Anywho I don't have much of an update, but a friend of mine named of CartoonLover16 made a stellar fan art drawing of my character Gilda.

Katie: A Landmark in creation

This is Katie, an original character idea that came to me around autumn of 2001. Before then I was in a depressed state during my school year, and I was in 8th grade at the time. Since I had a lot of problems clouding my mind, I thought I'd clear them out by doing my number one hobby: drawing. After a while an eccentric idea came to mind. I drew this little girl in a gothic dress and slippers with pigtails and skull berets. I still don't know how this was so sudden as an idea, but it became a fun concept to work on, and I had friends at my school cafeteria who also loved seeing this character, so they helped push me forward in developing her. As a few years passed I'd decided to give her a new design and give her a story since I'd been drawing her for so long, titled "Blooded Moonlight". To this day she's been the legacy of my creations.

Alternate drawing of Gilda

This was an early alternate design for Gilda that I worked on as of late 2009. As you can see, she had longer sideburns, and hair that went down more naturally, and visual bangs over her eyes. The armor looked more simplistic and she carried a "gun", which soon changed to "zapper", and then faded away from development, as of course it seemed too much, as the series was already at the point of focusing towards a younger crowd. The furry antennas that are usually seen were not an added feature at the time, but as she was supposed to be an alien, I felt as if I needed to add them just a few months after development. Another change, was to finally give Gilda a companion, as it didn't feel right just having her on her own.

Welcome

Greetings one and all to my blog/archive of artwork from past and present. Here I will share my experiences with drawing cartoons and artwork that I've been doing for two and a half decades now. Feel free to leave any comments expressing my work. In the meantime, here's a video from my Youtube account that shows you how to draw an old character of mine from 2001, Katie!
